Machinery Moving Services | APR Packers & movers | Factory Move
Moving a house is tough. Moving a factory can stop your business.
Machinery Moving with APR Packers and Movers means we handle Plant and Machinery Relocation Services from shutdown to restart – technical survey, dismantling, heavy lifting, export packing, ODC transportation, and installation – so your factory moves safely across India and abroad with minimum downtime.
That’s what real industrial machinery movers should deliver.
Why Plant Relocation Needs More Than Normal Cargo
A normal shipment starts after packing. A factory move starts while machines are still running and bolted to the floor.
A CNC machine, press line, transformer, boiler, or packaging line isn’t just heavy. It’s mechanically anchored, electrically connected, and integrated with conveyors and panels.
Treat it like general cargo and you pay later.
The failures we see most often:
- Wrong weight recorded – an 18-ton machine becomes 24 tons after packing
- Centre of gravity not marked – crane plan fails
- Destination foundation not ready – machine arrives, can’t be placed
- Serial numbers don’t match packing list – customs holds the shipment
We fix those before the first bolt comes out.
We are APR Packers and Movers, Saidulajab, Saket, New Delhi – 110030. MSME & GST registered since 1998. We handle machinery moving services across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi NCR, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, West Bengal, Kerala, Gujarat, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
What Makes Our Machine Relocation Different: Survey to Restart
Your goal isn’t just to move machines. It’s to restart production on time.
We plan backwards from your restart date.
1. Pre-Move Technical Survey and Machinery Mapping
This is the foundation. Before dismantling, we survey every machine.
We record:
- Actual weight, length, width, height – not from old drawings
- Packed dimensions after skid and export packing
- Centre of gravity and lifting points
- Electrical and mechanical disconnection points
- Origin and destination access – gate width, road width, turning radius, overhead lines
Every machine gets a unique ID that stays with it through dismantling, customs, warehousing, and final positioning. Our machine register captures asset number, make, model, serial number, net/packed weight, and destination position.
Why this matters: If dimensions are wrong, your crane and low-bed trailer plan fails. We prevent that.
2. Dismantling and Identification – Controlled, Not Random
A large machine can split into 5 to 20 packages. One missing motor can stop commissioning.
We do:
- Systematic disassembly as per OEM guidelines
- Complete tagging of all mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts
- Photo and digital documentation of every connection and routing
- Mapping of electrical schematics and pneumatic circuits
Nothing leaves without being recorded. Documentation is the foundation of a successful move.
3. Export Packing and Protection – Built for 30 Days at Sea
In transit, machines face vibration, humidity, condensation, and repeated lifting. Standard plastic wrap fails.
We use industrial-grade protection:
- Heavy timber skids, ISPM-15 compliant crates
- Vacuum packaging, VCI protection, moisture barriers, desiccants
- Shock and tilt indicators
- Custom fixtures for dies, rollers, control panels, and sensors
- Vibration-dampening and corrosion protection
An 8-tonne crate must have clearly marked lifting points. A flat-rack shipment must show centre of gravity and lashing points. Wrong lifting causes more damage in 30 seconds than a 30-day voyage.
Factory to Factory Machinery Relocation India: Transport & ODC
The road can be harder than the sea.
Transport selection starts only after final packed weight and size are confirmed:
- Standard containers for smaller machines
- Open-top containers for taller machines
- Flat racks for over-width – 40 ft flat rack can take up to 47,000 kg with approval
- Breakbulk / heavy-lift vessels for extremely large machinery
- Low-bed trailers, hydraulic axles, modular transporters for ODC
Route survey for ODC is non-negotiable. A machine can travel 7,000 km by sea and get stuck 20 km from your factory because of a bridge or power line.
We survey before cargo lands at port:
- Road width, bridge capacity, height restrictions, railway crossings
- Toll infrastructure and factory gate dimensions
- Need for hydraulic axles and local authority approvals
Critical for Chakan, Talegaon, Sriperumbudur, Oragadam, Peenya, Sanand, Manesar, and Bhiwadi.
We are machinery movers and packers who manage heavy machinery shifting with project planning, not just trucking.
Documentation for International Relocation & Customs
For international moves, documentation control is everything.
Core documents you need:
- Commercial Invoice – true value, serial numbers, exact technical description
- Packing List – package numbers matching invoice lines
- Bill of Lading / AWB – correct consignee details
- Bill of Entry / Shipping Bill – correct HS classification
- Technical Catalogue – specs for customs classification
- Serial Number Register – asset matching for each package
- Weight and Dimension Sheet – for ODC booking
- Valuation Certificates – proof of depreciation for used machinery
- ATA Carnet – for temporary import of diagnostic tools
Used machinery may need DGFT authorisation for second-hand capital goods and BIS CRS registration for electronics. We coordinate advance Bill of Entry filing to avoid the 88-hour delay and detention at Rs. 11,800 per container per day.
We also handle battery compliance under IATA PI967/PI970 for lithium-powered equipment. Even searches for logestics usually mean end-to-end factory logistics – documentation, packing, freight, and customs. We cover all of it.
Our Shutdown-to-Restart Process: 9 Stages
We run one coordinated sequence for all parties.
- Stage 1 – Technical Survey (1-5 days): Machine register, layout. Risk: Wrong dimensions.
- Stage 2 – Dismantling (2-15+ days): Dismantling plan. Risk: Machine damage.
- Stage 3 – Packing (1-10+ days): Packing list. Risk: Corrosion.
- Stage 4 – Origin Transport (1-3+ days): Transport docs. Risk: Route restriction.
- Stage 5 – Export Customs (1-3 days): Invoice, Shipping Bill. Risk: Documentation query.
- Stage 6 – Sea / Air Freight (Route dependent): Bill of Lading/AWB. Risk: Schedule delay.
- Stage 7 – Import Customs (2-7+ days): Bill of Entry. Risk: Classification issue.
- Stage 8 – Inland Delivery (1-5+ days): Delivery docs. Risk: Destination not ready.
- Stage 9 – Installation & Commissioning (Project dependent): Layout drawings. Risk: Wrong sequence.
We plan with four dates: target arrival, latest acceptable arrival, commissioning start, and production restart. Plus a 3-7 day buffer. That’s how factory-to-factory moves stay on track.
Installation, Alignment & Commissioning – Where Engineering Wins
Moving is half the job. Restart is the test.
We provide:
- Foundation verification and load-bearing checks
- Laser-guided leveling to OEM spec at ±0.1 mm accuracy
- Precision alignment with dial indicators and laser tools
- Full utility reconnection – air, water, electrical, networks
- Safety interlock checks before startup
- Trial runs from low speed to full production
- Operator training and documented handover
We don’t close the project until the line is running at proven performance. One team. One contact. From first bolt to first product.
FAQs: What Plant Heads Ask Us
How much downtime should I plan?
Work backwards. If commissioning needs 5 days and installation needs 7, machines must be on site 12 days before restart. Add 3-7 days for customs and route. We give you a Gantt chart after survey.
What equipment do you use for heavy machinery shifting?
Forklifts, cradles, dollies, cranes, machine skates, low-bed trailers, hydraulic axles, flat racks, and heavy timber skids. Selection depends on weight, centre of gravity, and lifting points.
What drives factory-to-factory relocation cost?
Not just freight. It includes survey, dismantling, export packing, heavy transport, sea/air freight, customs, detention risk, crane standby, and installation. We give you total landed cost with risk buffer.
Do you handle ODC transportation and route survey?
Yes. We handle ODC for over-dimensional machines with route surveys for bridges, power lines, and turning radius in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Delhi NCR.
What documents are needed internationally?
Commercial invoice, packing list, Bill of Lading/AWB, Bill of Entry, technical catalogue, serial number register, weight/dimension sheet, insurance, and DGFT/BIS approvals for used machines.
Can you move a single CNC or an entire plant?
Both. Single CNC with alignment, or full plant relocation for 20-50 machines with shutdown-to-restart management.
How do you prevent corrosion during sea freight?
VCI, vacuum packaging, moisture barriers, desiccants, shock indicators, and timber crating with marked lifting points. Precision surfaces get extra protection.
